For introducing a work, we usually choose
to tell something about the main character, but we don't
want that. We don't believe that there would be something
to add to the charismatic figure of St. Francesco nothing
that our hearts already don’t know.
We can only underline that this work is simply the story
of a great man and that the artistic choice is aimed
to make live a bit of St. Francesco in each of us.
St. Francesco who is above all a man, an extraordinary
man who, with his example, can make everybody to reflect
on one’s own life.
Francesco who makes us reflect on thematic more than
never actual: the peace, the ecology, the hope and the
solidarity.
Francesco who is solar, full of life, passionate as
any man; who is victim of the anger facing the injustices
and who let himself taken by the discouragement seing
so much suffering; but who, thanks to his deep faith,
doesn't stop believing to be able to change the world.
And so he did.
Francesco who, checking the "animosity" inherent
in oneself, chooses the road of the hope and the compassion.
Francesco who is strong and weak on the same time, in
love with life and disgusted by the sufferings; Francesco
who loves the nature in its totality - positive and negative
- and is conscious to be able to see the life also in
the pain and in the wickedness.
Francesco who is tied up from a strong faith with Chiara,
a faith for the same mission, that brings them to awake
themselves in the complete contemplation of life.
Francesco who is conscious of his mission, but is human
in the complicity with his friend-brothers, as it happens
with Bernardo.
All that wants to be transmitted thanks to the unmistakable
and deep notes of Angelo Branduardi who, once again,
shows himself one of the greatest talents of the Italian
music. Thanks to his art, Angelo puts in music the words
of St. Francesco, giving life to a waltz of emotions
that makes the first texts of our literature enjoyable
to everybody and directed to our hearts.
The music matches with a prosaic reading of the life
of St. Francesco, tending to show the human and actual
side of a noble spirit in struggle with the rawness that
sometimes the life shows us.
On stage the actors will be called to interpret the
most difficult of the roles: the humanity.
In a series of scenes completed by a cast of ballet
dancers, will be represented the life of a man out of
the ordinary, of an imperishable teacher, of a myth to
which all of us should tend.
Comes so a work that can be read in three times: music,
recitation and dance: a match of arts for the most natural
of the messages, often forgotten unfortunately: the love
for the whole humanity.
