"Within this project I have sung the words of the distant people... distant in the time and in the space. These words have been translated and freely adapted for my music and singing them I have, in a certain sense, made them mine. I have chosen the texts that I liked more and this choice, only apparently casual, has brought me to trace an itinerary, fantastic under all the points of view, that visits people and countries so different, so distant between them each other in cultures, traditions and perfumes, yet united by the universal feeling of love.

From the Nepal of Laila to the ancient Irish lyric, from the thawing of Catullo to the attenuate sweetness of a Chinese love ballad, from the sensuality of the Arabic poetry to the rigor of the Japanese tradition, from the verses of the Indians of America, so near to the nature, to the greatness of Shakespeare, from the persian poetry of the year thousand to an anonymous song of the Kabilis of Africa; from the wild vehemence of the lebanese poetry to the extreme spirituality of a poet and mystical pashtun of the 1600 who sings the foolish love of the moth for the flame.

This, to great lines, is the journey of my trip, dream and curiosity, images of distant lands, visions of men and women that, under other skies, burn for our same passions."
